I like this place. Lots of variety. I come here for the dried herbs, teas and powders. They have stuff that can be hard to find like file blend. Nice selection of nutrition supplements, vegan groceries, natural soaps and essential oils. Good customer service and snacks too.

Great produce and natural section. Plus they had sea moss which hard to find. Biggest highlight although I didn’t indulge is the bakery——so many vegan selections from snickerdoodles to huge cupcakes to sweet potato cake to creatively flavored cheesecake!

Great neighborhood grocery . Good source for organic and gluten free products. I enjoy the hot lunch buffet and their coffee. Indoor and outdoor seating. Their juice bar is a great addition to the other food and drink options.

If only every grocery store could set the example like Ellwood Thompson's store. Grocery stores sell you food with chemicals, which wreck your health. Here at Ellwood, you can see their high grade, high frequency foods, it's here to heal your body. I ordered the Curried Hearts of Palm salad, Curry Tofu Salad--adding Yellow Bird hot sauce on top, and Blue Dream smoothie to start my day. It makes a huge difference to eat healthy, and you will find beautiful foods and products here. I highly recommend this place --5 stars from me!

Best local grocery store in the Richmond area. This place is a stable in the community. They also sell local produce from local farmers in the Virginia area, which is amazing and a much need.

Ellwood Thompson is a staple for those food conscious individuals! The produce is usually local and organic… and so are the meats! Lots of gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and organic options! Wonderful staff… convenient localation in the city and plenty of parking!

Today I stepped into this store after being away since the start of the pandemic. The certified organic selection here is wonderful! Ellwood Thompson's offers a very community-oriented environment and is very supportive of locally grown produce and other local items. More dollars generated at this locally-owned store also appear to stay in the community than probably at most corporate chain stores. Also, I see the owner eating regularly at the store's cafe, and is very customer service oriented himself.

Wonderful array of health, food, vegan vegetarian and gluten-free food. All kinds of food, canned and box otherwise that you can take home and cook very impressive and also fresh vegetables and fruit! Great place for people interested in protecting their health

Wow. This is a really nice organic market. Lots of familiar products and stuff that I haven't seen before. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to do a full grocery run here to see what the cost was. Just wandered the aisles and checked out their offerings.
